JNAH generally does not publish pilot studies or studies with inadequate statistical power that are unlikely to produce meaningful or generalizable conclusions.

However, exceptionally well-designed pilot or feasibility studies may be considered for publication if they:

• Address an important and novel research question.
• Employ rigorous and transparent methodology.
• Clearly identify themselves as pilot or feasibility studies.
• Focus on feasibility, recruitment, implementation, safety, or protocol development rather than definitive hypothesis testing.
• Provide valuable information that informs the design of future adequately powered studies.

Acceptance of pilot or feasibility studies is determined on a case-by-case basis by the Editorial Board.
